BDO shortlisted for major award at Xerocon Brisbane Awards 2018

28 August 2018

The results will be announced next week at the glittering awards ceremony, which is part of the world’s largest accounting technology conference.

BDO is pleased to announce it has been nominated for Regional Partner of the Year (Asia) in the Xero Awards at Xerocon Brisbane 2018.

Hosted annually in major global destinations, which this year include Brisbane, London and Atlanta, as part of the world’s largest accounting technology conference Xerocon, the Awards recognise excellence across the bookkeeping and accounting industries.

In Thailand, BDO has partnered with XERO since 2015 and is one of the Kingdom’s leading advisory and auditing firms.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the Regional Partner of the Year category at this prestigious awards programme,” Paul Ashburn, co-managing partner of BDO in Thailand, says. “We have worked with the team at Xero for a number of years and have seen how their products have revolutionised our clients’ day-to-day operations.”

Since launching in 2006, Xero has become the global leader in providing cloud-based accounting software and works with partners across more than 180 countries. The company, which originated in New Zealand, was ranked top of Forbes 100 Most Innovative Growth Companies list in 2015 and 2016.

Its annual Xerocon events are lauded for their action-packed agendas, innovative product launches and invaluable networking opportunities. It has even been called the “Coachella for accountants”.

The criteria for the Regional Partner of the Year (Asia) category invites accounting partners that have a regional presence or a regional association of independent accounting firms and demonstrate how it has added significant value to its clients in multiple countries across the Asia region and champions Xero and the use of cloud technology. It is based on the following:

  1. Regional presence - evidence of being a regional partner
  2. Goal-orientated services - evidence of how Xero services have fundamentally helped clients to achieve their business goals
  3. Firm growth - evidence of growth in terms of new Xero clients
  4. Xero certification - evidence that staff are Xero certified
  5. Cloud advocacy - demonstrated commitment to raising awareness of the benefits of Xero and the cloud in the small business community

Winners of the Asia-Pacific categories — the North America and Europe winners are unveiled at the Atlanta and London events, respectively — will be announced on the evening of Tuesday, 4 September at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The two-day Xerocon event kicks off in earnest the following morning and is bound to be the largest to date with more than 5,000 people expected to attend.
